This is Fr. Stephen Valenta, The Director of the International Office of the Ministry of the Blessed Virgin Mary as the Virgin of the Globe.
In 1830 in Paris, France, Our Lady appeared as the Virgin of the Globe to Catherine Laboure. She asked that a medal be made of the apparition and that she, Catherine, would explain to all of her children in the world that She is asking for their help. She stated that She needs their sufferings and sacrifices so that She can put them into the Golden Globe and offer them through Jesus to the Father so that He would extend His mercy upon the world. He is ready to cleanse the world of its evil. Mary, as our Mother, pleads for us and asks each of us to come to Her help. She asks that we wear the medal of the Virgin of the Globe, say the prayer, "O Virgin conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to Thee." She begs that we give Her our Rosaries, our penances, our fasting and hardships so that She can use them as pleading power with the Father.
